Kristi Maasjo has over 20 years of management and organizational development experience in both the private and nonprofit sectors.

As senior program director for operations at Results for Development, Ms. Maasjo provides strategic oversight and operational leadership across R4D’s portfolio of health, nutrition and education programs.

Before joining R4D, Ms. Maasjo lived and worked in multiple African countries, where she implemented maternal and child health programs in Nigeria as a consultant for the Clinton Health Access Initiative and helped build the sustainability of Kenyan civil society organizations through community philanthropy as deputy director at the Aga Khan Foundation. At the Africa Capacity Alliance, Ms. Maasjo served as executive director and oversaw a complete overhaul of the organization, including developing a five-year strategic plan that broadened the organization’s mission from one core issue, HIV/AIDS, to health systems strengthening across Eastern and Southern Africa. This resulted in its first direct USAID grant, for $2 million.

Prior to joining the international development field, Kristi worked in marketing for organizations like National Geographic, where she developed and managed corporate partnerships.

Ms. Maasjo holds an MBA and BBA in international business, both from The George Washington University.
