Patent Pools: Assessing Their Value-Added for Global Health Innovation and Access

The Center for Global Health R&D Policy Assessment released its latest assessment, “Patent Pools: Assessing Their Value-Added for Global Health Innovation and Access,” which explores the role of joint intellectual property management in global health innovation and access to medicines.

The report’s authors, Amrita Palriwala and Rebecca Goulding, examine two ongoing initiatives, the Medicines Patent Pool and the Pool for Open Innovation against Neglected Tropical Diseases (now WIPO Re:Search), and consider their actual and potential impacts on global health.
