My new Shed for storing crap |
23rd of December 2006 - ?IntroductionIt was decided I needed a shed in the backyard to store all the crap that is currently spread evenly across the floor of the house. The Digging
Despite my wishes, I was convinced that just erecting a shed on unlevel dirt was a bad idea, isntead it must be built on top of a concrete slab strong enough to support a large bridge or perhaps the waters of a raging river as a dam. ![]() Here it is after I had dug. You can see the tree on the right has been cut back. This tree decided to grow downwards and sideways, as some of the roots were larger than the trunk. The PouringIt took a long time to find someone who was willing to pour concrete for my small job, and then it was even harder to arrange a day. I got a call the day before informing a job had been cancelled and I could have it done on the next day (a saturday) ![]() Here it is boarded up with steel mesh, this ensures that only a moderate amount of concrete will run under the fence into the neighbours yard, and that if an airbus was to land on my concrete pad it would be strong enough. ![]() This is mid pouring, after its poured the concrete man has to hang around for about 11 hours and smooth it over all the time. The shed is still to come! Check back later to find out Go back to the amazing r4d.org |
