Sweta Govani is an experienced digital technology and social impact professional with expertise in product management, marketing, and operations. For nearly 10 years, she has applied her expertise to help tech start-ups and social enterprises develop and execute their growth strategy.
At Results for Development, Ms. Govani is a senior communications officer serving as the lead for Global Innovation Exchange (GIE), a tech platform for global development innovations, funding and insights. In this role, she manages the team in driving forward GIE’s two key goals: Firstly, serving as a reliable fundraising resource for social entrepreneurs with innovations in low- and middle-income countries. Secondly, serving as a credible, up-to-date and robust source of information about global development innovations and funding. She helped develop the strategic direction of the platform, including leading the product vision and designing an integrated marketing and communications plan. The platform features close 10,000 innovations, USD450 million+ in cumulative funding and over USD1.2 billion in verified funding history for major innovation funders including USAID, DFAT, BMGF, GCC and more.
Before joining R4D, Ms. Govani led the growth marketing strategy for a startup SaaS platform, where she led the charge in creating and executing an inaugural marketing plan to acquire, retain and activate customers. The platform doubled revenue in just six months and continued to see growth in new and return users. Prior to that, she worked at two different agencies on integrated branding, marketing and communications strategies and campaigns for e-commerce or online subscription platforms.
Ms. Govani has worked pro bono for various nonprofits, and most recently served as co-president of Net Impact NYC, a social impact organization hosting a biannual Service Corps program and other events year-round. She is a co-founder of Waste for Good, a social enterprise that designed an initiative in NYC to convert food waste into clean energy.
Ms. Govani has a BBA in marketing from Hofstra University and an executive certificate in social impact strategy from the University of Pennsylvania.
